For the 91st time, the Washita Valley Golf Tournament will be played in Chickasha.
The tournament is scheduled to begin in July at Bushwood Golf and Country Club. According to the flyer, free practice rounds can be played July 3 and July 4.
According to owner Max Stewart, the tournament will be going back to an old format. There is scheduled to be a championship flight along with flights A through E.
Per the flyer, the cost of the championship flight is $500, and the cost of the other flights is $150. Qualifying for the championship flight will be held July 4. Those in the other flights will be seeded and placed in flights for match play July 5.
Following qualifying, Stewart said there will be match play. Match play for the championship flight will be July 5 and July 6 with medal play taking place July 7. Match play for the other flights will take place July 6, and the medal play will take place July 7.
According to Stewart, the players not in the championship flight will be separated following match play. There will be a bracket for winners and a consolation bracket in those flights. Money can be won in both of those brackets during medal play.
Cash prizes will be given out, Stewart said.
Stewart added that gift cards to Jay’s Jewelry will be handed out on qualifying day.
Stewart also added the tournament is free for anyone who wants to watch the tournament and is hoping for a good crowd. The pool will be open to the participants’ families, and there will be non-golf events for women as well.
Entry forms can be mailed to Bushwood Golf and Country Club at 2900 S. 16th St. Spots are limited.
