The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma women’s soccer team has advanced to play in Alabama.
Competing in the NAIA’s national tournament after earning an automatic berth, the 10th-seeded Drovers clinched a spot in Orange Beach, Alabama, by picking up a 3-2 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Chickasha in their first match of the tournament.
The Drovers are scheduled to play Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. against seventh-seeded Westmont College. USAO enters the matchup with a 21-1 record on the season, and Westmont has put together a 15-3-1 season.
USAO won the Sooner Athletic Conference in the regular season and won the conference tournament. The Drovers have won their last 11 matches and have scored multiple goals in each of those 11 matches.
Westmont earned a spot in the national tournament by earning an at-large bid out of the Golden State Athletic Conference.
Westmont advanced to play USAO by earning a shutout victory in its first match of the national tournament, defeating Marymount California University 2-0.
