Coaches in the Sooner Athletic Conference picked the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma women's basketball team to finish near the top of the SAC.
The SAC recently released its preseason poll, and coaches predicted USAO to finish third in the conference this season. Oklahoma City University and Wayland Baptist University finished in a tie for first in the poll.
USAO received 71 points in the poll, 24 points behind OCU and WBU. USAO finished two points ahead of Mid-America Christian University for the third spot.
USAO earned one second-place vote, three third-place votes, four fourth-place votes, one fifth-place vote and one seventh-place vote.
The Drovers are coming off of a 21-12 season with an appearance in the national tournament. USAO advanced to the conference tournament semifinals before ending its season with a loss to The Master's University in the national tournament.
The Drovers will be looking to reach the Division I national tournament for the third season in a row.
