The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma softball team will enter another season with high expectations.

Coaches across the NAIA — including the Sooner Athletic Conference — showed in polls that they think highly of the Drovers. USAO was voted No. 2 by coaches in the NAIA’s preseason poll and picked by SAC coaches to win the conference.

In the NAIA preseason poll, the Drovers received one first-place vote and 511 points. USAO will start the season at No. 2 after coming in at No. 3 in the postseason poll that was released by the NAIA after the 2019 season.

In the SAC preseason poll, coaches picked the Drovers to win the conference this season. The Drovers earned eight first-place votes and 64 points in the poll, seven points ahead of Oklahoma City University.

Under head coach Jadyn Wallis, USAO has become a softball powerhouse and has been to back-to-back NAIA World Series. The Drovers defeated Columbia College to win the national title in 2018 and finished third at the event last season, ending the season with a 59-4 record.

USAO won the SAC title during the regular season in 2019 and advanced to the championship game of the conference tournament. During the regular season, USAO went 36-0 in conference play to capture the conference title. USAO has a record of 116-9 over the course of the past two seasons and has broken records.

USAO will begin its season Feb. 6 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
