The bracket for the upcoming NAIA World Series has been released.
Ten NAIA Opening Round champions are set to compete in Springfield, Missouri, beginning May 23. The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma has the opportunity to defend its 2018 national title as the top overall seed in this year’s bracket.
The Drovers are scheduled to play the winner of Georgia Gwinnett College and Vanguard May 24 at 7 p.m. The Drovers advanced to the World Series out of Dodge City, Kansas, where they went 4-1.
Following a win over Avila University, USAO fell to the University of Houston-Victoria 1-0 and had to win three elimination games in a row to advance. In the end, the Drovers were able to do that and ended up with a 36-9 advantage in runs scored at the tournament.
USAO enters the World Series with a record of 56-2.
GGC is seeded eighth in the bracket and went 3-0 as the top seed in Lawrenceville, Georgia. GGC has a record of 42-14 on the season.
Vanguard is seeded ninth and advanced with a 3-0 record in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Vanguard has a 46-11 record.
USAO is in the same half of the bracket as No. 4 seed Southern Oregon University and No. 5 seed Lindsey Wilson College.
In the other half of the current bracket, Marian University is the No. 2 seed and has only lost one game this season. Oklahoma City University is seeded third and is the only other team to beat USAO this season.
Valley City State University is the No. 6 seed. The University of Mobile is seeded seventh, and Oregon Tech is seeded 10th.
