The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma basketball teams received recognition in preseason polls released by the NAIA.
Coaches from across the country placed the USAO men in the top 15 of Division I in the preseason poll. The Drovers are currently ranked 13th in the country.
The Drovers received 139 points in the poll, six points ahead of the 14th spot and six points behind the 12th spot in the preseason rankings.
Coaches in the Sooner Athletic Conference predicted the Drovers to finish second in the conference this season. USAO is looking to keep the momentum it gained from a run to the national quarterfinals last season.
The Drovers have been to the national tournament three seasons in a row.
The USAO women did not crack the top 25, but they did receive votes from the coaches. USAO received 17 points in the preseason poll, good for No. 31 in Division I.
SAC coaches predicted the USAO women to finish third in the conference this season. The Drovers are looking to get back to the national tournament for the third season in a row.
