Tigers sweep Santa Fe South 21-0, 14-0 in District play.

When the season starts, there are about 10 teams in each class who have a real chance to win state.

Tuttle was one of those teams in 4A.

The team that wins state is usually the one that gets hot at the right time.

With three straight wins over Top Ten teams and a thrashing of Santa Fe South district play, it is hard to argue that Tuttle is not hot at the right time.

The Tigers whipped the Saints 21-0 and 14-0 Thursday at Brian Stewart Field in Tuttle.

The THS line-up was dotted with big performances, but none was bigger than Tyler Henson.

Henson ripped a grand slam and went 3-for-3 with 6 RBI and drew an intentional walk in three and a half innings of play.

Brett Coffman allowed only one hit, a weak dribbler in the infield.

He gave up two walks and struck out nine in four innings of work.

Doug Carel came on in relief to finish the game with a perfect fifth inning.

He struck out two.

The No. 4 Tigers should get to host a Regional Tournament next week, as well.
