The Chickasha softball team is back in the postseason.
After missing out on the playoffs last season, Chickasha finished third in District 4A-2 this season to qualify for a regional tournament. Chickasha is currently 22-9 on the season and went 8-4 in district play.
Chickasha is looking to get back to the state tournament for the first time since 2015. The Lady Chicks won the state title that season.
Purcell High School will be the host of the Lady Chicks' regional tournament. Chickasha head coach Courtne St. Clair confirmed that the regional tournament will take place Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced regional brackets, and Chickasha's first game will be against Weatherford. According to St. Clair, the game is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m. against the Weatherford Lady Eagles.
Weatherford finished second in District 4A-3 this season.
As the host of the tournament, Purcell took first place in District 4A-4. McLoud is also scheduled to compete at the tournament. The Lady Redskins finished fourth in District 4A-1.
Two other area teams are set to compete in regional tournaments. Tuttle won District 4A-3 and gets to host a regional tournament. Blanchard finished second in 4A-2 and is scheduled to play at Newcastle.
