Through their first nine games of the season, the Amber-Pocasset Lady Panthers and Tuttle Lady Tigers are off to strong starts.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Tigers improved their records to 8-1 Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers moved to 8-1 on the season with wins over Walters, bouncing back from a loss to Dale in Ripley High School’s softball tournament. Am-Po swept Walters in a district doubleheader, picking up a pair of 3-0 victories.

The Lady Panthers are off to a strong start in District 2A-3. They moved to 5-0 in district play after the two wins.

Before the loss to Dale, Am-Po started the season with six wins in a row. During that win streak, the Lady Panthers outscored their opponents 58-4.

Scheduled for tournament play Thursday, Am-Po earned five shutouts in its first nine games.

As for Tuttle, the Lady Tigers have won eight games in a row after a 10-9 loss to Washington in their season opener.

The win streak includes a tournament title.
