CHICKASHA BASEBALL — Cade Morris. Morris strike out nine batters in the Fightin' Chicks 17-0 win against Southeast Tuesday in the first round of the Class 5A Regional Tournament.

CHICKASHA GIRLS SOCCER — Marlie LaFerr. LaFerr made 20 saves in the Lady Chicks' loss to Bishop McGuinness Tuesday  in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs

 

CHICKASHA BOYS TRACK AND FIELD —Zack Funderburk. Funderburk took a second-place medal in the Suburban Conference Meet with a time of 53.32 seconds.

 

CHICKASHA GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD — Mary Kathleen Allen, Rachel White, Chelci Oliver, Nyesha Fields and Will'Eisah Irby. Allen won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:37.34. White, Oliver, Fields and Irby teamed up to win the 400-meter relay, with a time of 51.84. 

 

CHICKASHA GOLF — The team. The quartet of Taylor Williams, Colby Powell, Daniel Bates and Tim Still shot low enough in the Class 5A Regional A Tournament in Guthrie, to win it and qualify for state early next week in Ardmore. 

Williams also took home top individual medalist honors. 

 

CHICKASHA BOYS TENNIS — The team. The Fightin' Chicks took runner-up honors in their own tournament last Friday.

 

CHICKASHA GIRLS TENNIS — Shelby Crosley and Hailey Angel. Both players qualified for state with third and fourth place finishes, respectively, regionals. 

 

USAO BASEBALL — Blake Taylor. Taylor hit his first career home run in the Drovers' loss to Rogers State University Wednesday in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament. 

 

AM-PO BASEBALL — Zach Freisen. As a pitcher in the Class A regional tournament, Friesen produced 12 strikeouts in two games. 

 

AM-PO GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD — Kassandra Bilyeu, Haley Savage, Faith Mays, Jordan Garner, Arielle Hefley. The quintet of girls placed high enough in respective competitions in the Class A regional meet in Konawa, it got them into state. 

 

VERDEN SOFTBALL — Caly Skinner. Skinner hit a 3-run home run for the Lady Tigers against Covington-Douglass in the Class A Regional Tournament on April 28. She also went 2-for-2 at bat in a game against Asher. 

 

*VERDEN BASEBALL — James Boyer and Braden Henricks. Boyer went 3-for-7 in two games of the Class B Regional Tournament on April 21. He also had two runs scored and one run batted in. Hendricks was 2-for-5 with one run and two doubles.
