The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association recently released playoff assignments for Classes A and B.
Class A involves three area teams, and Class B involves one team from the area. Two of the four schools across the two classes will host district tournaments, and one school will have the opportunity to host a regional tournament.
Alex, Cyril and Verden are all in the same portion of Class A Area III.
In the portion of Area III that features the three teams, Alex will be the main site for the regional tournament during the playoffs, and Central High will serve as the regional sub-site.
Chickasha will host the area tournament for all of Area III.
The Alex Lady Longhorns got a bye in district play and will play the winner of Fox and Waurika at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in Alex. By earning a bye, the Lady Longhorns have earned a regional tournament spot.
The Alex boys will fight to keep their season alive against Waurika Feb. 14 at approximately 8 p.m. The winner plays Fox at approximately 8 p.m. the following evening.
The Cyril boys and girls earned first-round byes in district play and will play their games Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. and approximately 8 p.m. at home. With regional spots locked up, both teams will play Central High or Ryan.
Both Verden teams will be looking to avoid elimination in district play at Canute Feb. 14 against Ringling at 6:30 p.m. and approximately 8 p.m. The winners will play Canute the following evening at 6:30 p.m. and approximately 8 p.m.
The two Cement teams will play Gracemont at 6:30 p.m. and approximately 8 p.m. Feb. 14 in Area III of Class B. Lookeba-Sickles will be awaiting the winners of those games the following evening at 6:30 p.m. and approximately 8 p.m. at Lookeba-Sickles.
Chattanooga will be the main site for the regional tournament in that part of Area III, and Granite will serve as the regional sub-site during the postseason.
Cache will serve as the area tournament host for the area.
