MOORE — Chickasha athlete Jazmyn Murry put together a strong showing at state.
Murry competed in the 100-meter hurdles at the Class 5A state meet Friday and Saturday at Moore High School and reached the podium with a second-place finish.
Murry finished second in the finals of the event to Duncan’s Kaitlin Hunter. Murry ended up with a time of 15.90 seconds, just behind Hunter’s time of 15.48.
She also had the No. 2 time in the preliminaries on Friday and improved her time in the finals. Prior to her time of 15.90, Murry had a time of 16.33 in the preliminaries.
Murry punched her ticket to the state meet with a strong showing in Duncan at one of the Class 5A regional meets. She finished second to Hunter there with a time of 15.70. That time was second among the 16 state qualifiers.
