The Minco boys continue to roll through the Grady County Tournament.

The Bulldogs turned a close game after the first quarter to a blowout against the Lexington Bulldogs in Alex on Friday. After a 40-point win in the first round, Minco won its semifinal game 62-36 to advance to its third GCT title game in a row.

Minco is looking to defend its 2019 title.

After going behind 6-3, Minco scored the final six points of the first quarter before scoring the first 11 points of the second quarter. With Minco leading 24-10, Cooper Shirley buried one of his six triples to give the Bulldogs a 27-10 lead at halftime.

Lexington’s offense came out pretty fast in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs were able to come up with multiple answers throughout the period. Minco won the third quarter 21-10 to take a 28-point lead to the final quarter.

Shirley ended up with 23 points in the game for the Bulldogs. Austin Brothers contributed 10 points in the team’s victory.

Minco will play for the title Saturday at approximately 8 p.m.
