Several area football teams are looking stay unbeaten this week.
Six area football teams enter play this week without a loss. Two teams from the area are looking to get in the win column this week.
Chickasha vs. Harrah
The Fightin’ Chicks are looking to start 2-0 for the second season in a row. Chickasha is scheduled to host Class 4A opponent Harrah this week for its home opener.
Chickasha is coming off of a 20-7 win over Marlow in its season opener. The defense stood tall most of the night in the victory, coming up with several turnovers.
Chickasha scored through the air via Cayss Lowery to Kaden Stephenson. Austin Albright and Hasian Burdex each had touchdown runs in the victory.
The Harrah Panthers are trying to get in the win column. The Panthers fell to Seminole 40-8 last week and 38-7 to Anadarko the week before.
Chickasha defeated Harrah last season by a score of 27-7.
Rush Springs at Cordell
The Rush Springs Redskins are looking to start the season 2-0. The Redskins travel to Cordell this week.
The Redskins opened the season Week Zero with a home win over Konawa. Kade Worden scored two rushing touchdowns in the shutout win over Konawa.
The Blue Devils are 0-2 this season. They have losses to Mooreland and Watonga.
A 2-0 start would be Rush Springs’ first 2-0 start to a season in several seasons.
Minco at Crossings Christian
Minco will play its first district game Friday.
Minco is scheduled to play Crossings Christian in a District A-3 matchup.
The Bulldogs enter the game with a 2-0 record after wins over Wynnewood and Dibble.
The Bulldogs have allowed just 13 points per game in their first two games and will be looking to avenge last season’s loss to Crossings Christian.
Crossings Christian finished second in the district last season, and Minco finished third.
Crossings Christian is 1-1 this season.
Bridge Creek, Cyril and Tuttle are also looking to remain undefeated.
Tuttle is looking to extend its win streak to 17 against Plainview at home. Bridge Creek is scheduled to host Lindsay, and Cyril is at Mountain View-Gotebo.
Alex and Blanchard are each looking for their first wins of the season. Alex is at Central High, and Blanchard is at Anadarko.
Dibble is looking to move to 2-1 on the season with a home game against Lexington.
