Every area football team has officially played at least one district game. Every team will play a district game Thursday this week.
Chickasha vs. Weatherford
The Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks are looking to avoid their third loss in a row Thursday against the Weatherford Eagles. Chickasha is coming off of back-to-back losses to Cache and Newcastle and currently sits at 1-2 in District 4A-1 and 3-3 overall.
Chickasha suffered a 24-17 loss to Newcastle last week. Jordan Jackson reached 100 yards receiving, and Chickasha forced another turnover, giving the Chicks' opponents at least one turnover in all six games this season.
Kaden Stephenson recorded an interception in the loss.
Weatherford enters Thursday’s matchup 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in district play. The Eagles defeated Anadarko last week after losing to Clinton the week before.
Cache currently leads the District 4A-1 race with a 3-0 district record. Weatherford, Newcastle and Clinton are each 2-1. Chickasha, Elgin and Anadarko are 1-2, and Elk City is 0-3 in the district.
Alex at Geary
The Alex Longhorns are rolling after their first district win of the season. Alex moved to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in District B-3 with a 58-12 win over the Snyder Cyclones last week.
Alex has now won its last three games after a 1-2 start to the season. They have won each of those three games by at least 46 points.
All four of Alex’s wins this season have been by at least 46 points.
Geary has lost its last four games and is 1-5 on the season. Geary suffered a 42-30 loss to Cyril in its district opener.
Minco at Crescent
The Minco Bulldogs are the last unbeaten team in the area. Minco is 7-0 on the season and is currently 3-0 in District A-3.
Over their last four games, the Bulldogs have topped 50 points twice and have averaged a little more than 45 points per game during that stretch.
Crescent is 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in its four district games.
Tuttle is at McLoud on Thursday, looking to bounce back from a loss to Bethany. The Tigers are 5-1 this season and 2-1 in 4A-2.
Blanchard fell to 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in 4A-2 after a loss to Tecumseh. The Lions are at Madill on Thursday.
In Class 3A, Bridge Creek is scheduled to host Heritage Hall on Thursday. Bridge Creek is 2-4 this season and 1-2 in 3A-1.
In Class A, Rush Springs is looking to snap its losing streak of three games. At 3-3 on the season and 0-2 in A-4, Rush Springs is scheduled to host Boone-Apache.
Also in A-4, Dibble is scheduled to host Walters. The Demons are 5-2 this season and 2-1 in district play.
In Class B, the Cyril Pirates are 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in District B-3. The Pirates are scheduled to play at Carnegie this week.
