With the end of the regular season drawing closer, area football teams combined for a successful week last week.

Area teams combined to go 7-2 last week, and all nine teams competed in district play.

Class B teams in the area combined to go 2-0 last week. The Alex Longhorns and Cyril Pirates won their games to stay unbeaten in District B-3.

Alex rolled to a 60-14 win over the Geary Bison, moving to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in B-3. With the win, Alex has won four games in a row and has won each of its past four games by at least 46 points.

Alex's five wins have all been by at least 46 points.

In a game much closer than Alex’s game, Cyril managed to take down Carnegie by two points. The Pirates came away with a 34-32 victory over the Wildcats and are 5-2 on the season to go along with being 2-0 in B-3.

Alex, Cyril and Burns Flat-Dill City are all 2-0 in B-3.

All three area teams in Class A won last week. Rush Springs, Dibble and Minco combined to go 3-0 in their respective districts.

The Rush Springs Redskins snapped their losing streak last week with a 35-23 win over the Boone-Apache Warriors. Rush Springs had lost three games in a row prior to the win. The Redskins are now 4-3 on the season and 1-2 in District A-4.

The Dibble Demons bounced back from a loss to Ringling in a big way, blowing out Walters 48-8. Dibble is now 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in A-4.

The Minco Bulldogs continue to roll through the regular season. Minco defeated Crescent 34-14 in District A-3 action, getting to 4-0 in district play and 8-0 on the season. Minco has won its last five games by 20 points or more.

Tuttle and Blanchard were the two Class 4A winners last week.

Tuttle is now 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in 4A-2 after a 46-7 win over McLoud. Blanchard moved to 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in 4A-2 with a 35-14 win over Madill.

Chickasha (4A) and Bridge Creek (3A) suffered losses last week.

Chickasha fell to 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in 4A-1 with a 29-10 loss to the Weatherford Eagles. Bridge Creek fell to 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in 3A-1 with a 59-0 loss to Heritage Hall.
