Seven area football teams entered the postseason, and four of those teams are still alive after the first week of the playoffs.
Three area teams joined the Tuttle Tigers by winning first-round games. Tuttle defeated Chickasha 17-7 to advance.
Tuttle will be at Broken Bow on Friday.
The Alex Longhorns won their first-round game in the Class B playoffs and will get to host their next game as well. Alex picked up its second win over Empire this season, advancing with a 52-6 win over the Bulldogs. Alex will host Laverne on Friday in another rematch after the Longhorns fell to Laverne in their season opener.
Alex is now 9-2 on the season and has won eight games in a row.
Two teams in Class A picked up victories at home last week.
Minco hosted Elmore City-Pernell and came away with a 41-7 victory. Minco is now 10-1 and will be at Thomas-Fay-Custer on Friday.
The Dibble Demons are also heading to the next round following a 28-20 win over Crossings Christian. The Demons moved to 9-2 with the win and will be at Mangum this week. Dibble has won its last four games.
Rush Springs fell to Cashion, and Cyril fell to Waurika in the first round.
