The Dibble Demons ended their season in a back-and-forth district series last week.
The Demons hosted Stratford Thursday and Friday in a series that ended up going the distance. Dibble took a 1-0 series lead Thursday with a 7-6 victory. Dibble fell 12-7 Thursday before falling 18-15 Friday in the series finale.
In Dibble's 7-6 victory, Hunter Corley went 2-for-3 at the plate and also struck out nine batters as the winning pitcher in the game.
The Demons' power helped them take a 1-0 series lead.
Colton Hager and Carson Bunce each homered in the victory. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Hager tied the game with a solo shot. Bunce hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give the Demons a 7-4 lead.
Stratford scored two runs in the seventh, but Dibble was able to hold on.
After falling in the second game of the series, Dibble looked to bounce back the following day. In a game filled with offense, the Demons trailed 10-6 in the fifth inning before jumping ahead.
Ty Sparks' two-run home run started a rally with two outs. Dibble scored six runs with two outs to take a 12-10 lead over Stratford.
Stratford took the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth, scoring seven runs to go up 17-12. Down 18-13, Dibble managed to score two runs in the seventh inning, but Stratford was able to stop the damage and secure the win.
