Baker Mayfield

OU quarterback Baker Mayfield looks for an open receiver during the Sooners' game against Akron Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Owen Field.

Oklahoma will have to battle away in the cauldron of Neyland Stadium in a tough week two matchup with Tennessee.

The Sooners triumphed against an unranked Vols team last year in Norman, but this season's game looks like a more difficult endeavor. Not only is Tennessee now ranked 23rd after a lop-sided win against Bowling Green last Saturday, but OU has to navigate a screaming crowd of more than 102,000 Vols fans (5 p.m., ESPN).

Another big game in week two sees the high-powered offense of No. 7 Oregon tested against Big 10 challengers No. 5 Michigan State (7 p.m., ABC). The Spartans can make an early claim to the conference that includes top-ranked Ohio State.

The Buckeyes follow up a hard-fought win against Virginia Tech with a seemingly easier task against visiting Hawaii. Ninth-ranked Notre Dame takes its show on the road against Virginia (2:30 p.m., ABC).

Oklahoma State will play Central Arkansas in a regionally broadcast game.
