The race for positioning in District 4A-2 has remained close throughout the season.

Chickasha, Blanchard and Lone Grove entered play Tuesday with one district loss apiece. Chickasha faced Lone Grove in Chickasha on Tuesday, suffering its second district loss of the season with a 16-1 defeat.

Chickasha only trailed 1-0 heading to the fourth inning. Lone Grove hit four home runs in the game and scored 11 runs off of those home runs.

Chickasha’s only run of the game came in the bottom half of the sixth inning. Following back-to-back walks, Rylie Weber got the ball in play. A Lone Grove error kept the inning alive and helped Chickasha get on the scoreboard.

The Lady Chicks finished the game with two hits. Leighanne Eaton singled in the second inning, and Alli Bordwine doubled in the seventh inning.

The Lady Chicks threatened to score early in the game. Lexi Albright and Valerie Inghram earned back-to-back walks with one out in the first inning, but the Lady Chicks could not get a runner across home plate.

Before the loss to Lone Grove on Tuesday, Chickasha defeated Plainview in district play Monday.

The Lady Chicks are now 14-6 on the season and are 4-2 in district play. Chickasha and Byng are both 4-2 in the district.
