The Blanchard Lion baseball team’s streak of appearances at the state tournament will continue.

The Lions continued rolling through the season with a dominant regional tournament last week, sweeping through the three tournament games in Blanchard. The Lions outscored their opponents 46-3 in the three victories and advanced to the Class 4A state tournament.

Blanchard opened tournament play with an 11-1 victory over the Elgin Owls and then picked up a dominant 19-2 win over the Bethany Bronchos to advance to the regional tournament championship.

The Lions completed regional play Saturday by defeating Bethany a second time. The final score of that game ended up being 16-0.

The regional championship moved the Lions to 36-0 on the season. They are heading back to the state tournament for the fifth season in a row. The Lions’ last state championship in baseball came in 2015 in a 1-0 victory over the Tuttle Tigers.
