The Minco Bulldog basketball team racked up Grady County Conference honors.

Three Bulldog players and head coach Cache Hill received honors after a successful season.

Hill was named Coach of the Year, and Dayken Rackley was named the conference’s MVP along with being named All-Conference. Cooper Shirley and Nick Burchfield also received All-Conference honors for the Bulldogs.

It was a season full of accomplishments for the Bulldogs. Not only did they win the conference, they won three tournaments during the regular season before eventually advancing to the state tournament for the first time since 1999.

During the regular season, Minco won its own tournament and Boone-Apache’s tournament before winning the Grady County Tournament.

At the Grady County Tournament, the Bulldogs won all three of their games by 12 points or more. They defeated Amber-Pocasset 63-51 in the championship game.

Minco started the season 13-0 and eventually advanced to the Class 2A state semifinals, defeating Okemah in the first round of the state tournament at Edmond North High School. Minco was ranked No. 3 in the final Class 2A poll.

The Bulldogs’ season ended in the state semifinals with a loss to eventual state champion Rejoice Christian.

Am-Po, Alex, Dibble, Verden and Ninnekah also had representation on the All-Conference teams. Rush Springs’ junior high was able to capture the conference title.
