Competing in tournaments across Oklahoma last week, three area basketball teams came away with tournament titles.

The Amber-Pocasset Lady Panthers, Blanchard Lady Lions and Cyril Pirates all won their respective tournaments last week.


Am-Po took part in Hinton's tournament and worked its way through the bracket. The Lady Panthers advanced to their second championship game of the season after finishing second at Velma-Alma's tournament in December.

Am-Po opened the tournament with a win over Christian Heritage Academy's JV team. The Lady Panthers defeated Carnegie in the semifinals and Crossings Christian in the championship game.

With the title, the Lady Panthers moved to 13-2 on the season and have won seven games in a row entering Tuesday's game against Alex. The Lady Panthers are ranked eighth in Class 2A.


The Blanchard Lady Lions ran through Noble's tournament to win the championship. The Lady Lions defeated Bridge Creek, Mount St. Mary and Perkins-Tryon to capture the championship.

After a 1-5 start to the season, Blanchard enters Tuesday's game with a 6-5 record after the win in the championship game.


The Cyril boys had to survive their championship game at the Black Diamond Classic in Rush Springs.

Cyril remained undefeated after a late free throw put the Pirates ahead of Velma-Alma. The Pirates defeated the Comets by one to win their second title this season after winning Binger-Oney's tournament in December.

The Pirates are ranked second in Class A and enter Tuesday's game with a 13-0 record. Cyril defeated Riverside Indian School on Monday.
