Softball players on three area teams recently received District 4A-2 honors.
Chickasha, Blanchard and Bridge Creek all had multiple players receive all-district honors for their efforts in 2019. Chickasha and Blanchard each had four players recognized, and three Bridge Creek players received honors.
District 4A-2 had four teams win more than 20 games in 2019. Blanchard and Chickasha finished second and third in the district to qualify for the postseason. Both teams won multiple games in their respective regional tournaments.
Chickasha's Valerie Inghram (third base), Allison Couch (pitcher), Allyson Arthur (outfield) and Lexi Albright (utility) received honors for their efforts during Chickasha's turnaround season under head coach Courtne St. Clair.
The Lady Chicks improved by 21 wins and won two games at their regional tournament, qualifying for the postseason after missing out on the playoffs in 2018. Chickasha defeated Weatherford and McLoud at the regional tournament and ended its season with a record of 24-11.
The Blanchard Lady Lions' Talise Jones (outfield), Gracie Steelman (utility), Callie Hacker (first base) and Avery Schneringer (pitcher) received honors. Blanchard advanced to the regional tournament, defeating Cache twice at the tournament.
Bridge Creek's Maylea Harrell (catcher), Kaylee Edwards (shortstop) and Danielle Burleson (utility) also received recognition.
