A Chickasha native and former high school basketball coach can add another honor to his list.
A.D. Burtschi was recently announced by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association as an inductee to the OBCA's Hall of Fame. He was selected alongside four other inductees and will be honored June 1 at 11 a.m. at the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center in Ada.
Burtschi spent most of his coaching career at Putnam City. He helped lead the Pirates to four state championships between 2002 and 2010. Burtschi finished his coaching career with over 750 victories alongside his state championships before retiring in 2016.
He was named the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Boys Basketball Coach of the Year in 2016 and was then named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017.
Burtschi has also started helping teach Chickasha's youth on the basketball court.
