With just over six weeks until the Oklahoma Federation of Democratic Womens Clubs' state meeting, the Grady County Democratic Women have put out a call for volunteers to work at the Oklahoma City event March 16 and 17.
Grady County along with Carter County makes up the 4th district which is hosting this year's state gathering.
Representing Grady County Democratic Women as a delegate will be Joyce Giles.
The Grady County organization met Tuesday in downtown Chickasha to discuss members' participation in the state meeting.
The meeting at Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City will include several workshops on campaigning.
Members will also be attending the Grady County Democratic Party meeting Feb. 9 at Canadian Valley Technology Center. That meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
In addition, the GCDW's next meeting will be 11:30 a.m. March 6 at the 50s Diner. All women who are interested in Democratic Party politics and electing Democratic candidates are invited.
Grady County Democratic Women officers are Angie Lewis of Chickasha, president; Joyce Giles of the Marlow-Rush Springs area, secretary; and Billye VanSchuyver, Chickasha, treasurer.
