Grady County District #2 Commissioner Mike Lennier said that The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Road (CS2790) was closed from (CR 1440) south to (CR 1450) today.

The bridge 1-1/4 mile south of HWY 277 has been closed by bridge inspectors for an indefinite amount of time.

Commissioner Lennier states that the reason the bridge was closed is because the wooden header pilings had rotted, and in all likelihood the bridge cannot be repaired and will have to be replaced.

Lennier said that this bridge was third on the list of future bridges to be replaced through the state bridge program.

Other options, according to Lennier, would be moving the bridge to the top of the list, which could take up to three years, or exploring the cost of the county replacing the bridge with its own money.
