Sunday night, Chickasha football coach Tom Cobble took his place in state football history when he was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Alongside family and friends, Cobble was inducted during a ceremonial banquet. Cobble, along with former Blanchard coaches Charley North and T.J. "Sonny" Vermillion, were announced as three of the ten inductees in March.

"It was good when they announced it, but as the date got closer and family gathered together, I started to get excited about it," Cobble said. "It makes you take time to focus on all of the coaches and the kids you worked with. They're the ones that make it great."

After receiving this honor, Cobble now turns his attention to the upcoming football season. While practice begins Aug. 13, the players will get a good chance to come together as a team with Survivor Night on Thursday.

"That's when we'll get together and go to an 'undisclosed' location," Cobble said. "We campout and we'll get some workouts in."

All the preparation builds up to the Fightin' Chicks' first game on Sept. 6 against Anadarko.
