Washita Valley Community Action Council Head Start celebrated Week of the Young Child, April 2-8, 2006. Week of the Young Child honors the more than 35 million children from birth through age eight in America, and the families, administrators, teachers and other adults who help children make the most of the opportunities of their early years.

Washita Valley celebrates the Week of the Young Child to recognize the needs of young children and to thank teachers and other adults who work to build better futures for all children. Week of the Young Child is celebrated across the country by hundreds of local organizations working to improve opportunities for all young children.

Washita Valley Head Start has 90 early childhood staff in Caddo and Grady counties working together to improve the quality of early childhood education. We encourage community members to work with us to ensure preschool children have the opportunities for a better future in public school and throughout life.
