Chickasha police investigate possible double homicide

Chickasha Police responded to a residence between 4th and 5th St. on Colorado Ave. in Chickasha. Two bodies were found, one suspect was taken into custody.

Chickasha Police have released the names of the two shooting victims in a suspected double homicide. 

The victims have been identified as Stanley Hisel, 66 and Deborah Hisel, 67, both of Chickasha. 

The Hisels were found in a residence at 420 W. Colorado Ave. in Chickasha on Thursday morning. One male suspect was taken into custody. 

Chickasha Police responded to a call of shots fired at about 9 a.m. on Thursday morning. The male suspect fired shots at the officer who initially responded to the scene. The officer did not return fire. The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody when his firearm malfunctioned, according to an update from the Chickasha Police Department.

Backup arrived and secured the area. Shortly after, the two people who had died from apparent gunshot wounds were discovered within the residence. 

Chickasha Police say this appears to be an isolated incident, with no further danger to public safety. 

The incident is still undergoing investigation by the Chickasha Police Department and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
