Southern Plains Medical Center brings the Oklahoma Spine Hospital to Chickasha

Southern Plains Medical Group’s CEO Len Lacefield announced today, an affiliation between Southern Plains Medical Center, (a 103-year-old Health Care System) and the award-winning Oklahoma Spine Hospital. The outcome is the “The Spine Center at SPMC”, located at the flagship location in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The Spine Center at SPMC, now open, will bridge the large gap with much-needed care in a region that desperately needs this service. Southern Plains has facilities in Grady and Caddo Counties, and serves a large population of Ranchers, Famers, Industrial Workers, Oil Field, and Manufacturers where neck and back pain is in high prevalence.

“We’ve been given a unique opportunity to serve our communities with these services. Oklahoma Spine Hospital in Oklahoma City is the leader in the resolution of back and neck (spine) problems and with our team of Top Ranked Pain Specialists. This program will have a significant impact on the lives of those in the southwest part of Oklahoma.

In support of the fact that a minimum of 8 out of 10 of us have or will have some type of Neck and or Back Pain; “according to the American Chiropractic Association, over 31 million Americans experience low back pain at any given time.”  The Spine Center at SPMC follows a distinct pathway and process of care for these issues.

"We are accepting New Patients and existing patients who have new, reoccurring or unresolved pain with the clear direction to resolve any limiting issues.” Len Lacefield, SPMG CEO, said.

Dr. Bridger Cox, Board Certified Neurosurgeon, from the Oklahoma Spine Hospital will lead a team of spinal surgeons alongside Dr. Rafael and Dr. Alina Justiz at Southern Plains Medical Center. The Oklahoma Spine Hospital, built in 1999, is one of the few local hospitals that receive the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award each year. The partnership between the two entities, provides better access to quality care, to patients from a part of Oklahoma that is used to going without care or forced to drive hours out of the market when seeking relief from neck and back pain.

“This is huge for Southwest Oklahoma. We are home to some of the hardest working Americans in our country, whom deserve this level of care close to home.” Said Hal Brock VP of Business Development for the Southern Plains Medical Group. “In my time with SPMG, that’s repeatedly been our mantra, create better access to quality healthcare, and create options to make that care more affordable and closer to home.”
