SaltCreek Casino, in continued partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute, will host its fourth blood drive of the year on Friday, September 27, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The blood drive will take after the famous Bedlam rivalry between the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Donors are encouraged to pick their favorite team in the form of the shirt they will receive upon donating blood. The shirt representing the Sooners features a profile illustration of Head Coach Lincoln Riley, while the shirt representing the Cowboys features a profile illustration of Head Coach Mike Gundy.
“No matter which team any of our donors pick, we are excited for the chance to show our spirit of helping fellow Oklahomans” said Cole Meeks, SaltCreek Casino general manager. “We are grateful to our team members’ and our patrons’ commitment to provide life-saving blood donations, and for our continued partnership with OBI.”
In addition to the t-shirts, donors who successfully donate will receive $10 in Bonus Play, which is valid for use at the casino until 11:59 p.m. that evening.
The blood drive will assist in OBI’s efforts to meet the needs of patients in 160 hospitals and medical facilities across the state. Approximately 1,200 volunteer donations are needed daily to maintain a steady supply.
The OBI bloodmobile will be located at the front of the facility for patrons to donate. Appointments to give blood are not required, but can be made by calling (877) 340-8777, or logging on to obi.org.
