Registration open for Oct. 5 Rock Island Ride

Chickasha's Rock Island Ride on Oct. 5 will be happening in conjunction with several events on the same day, in the same location, including the Rock Island Arts Festival, the Oklahoma Food Truck Championship and the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce Cornhoe Tournament. 

Chickasha's annual charity bike ride is just a few months away and registration is now open. 

The Rock Island Ride 2019  has been slated for Oct. 5 and features new routes. 

There are four options. Riders may choose between:  the nine mile town tour, 18 miles some hills, 42 miles very hilly or 64 miles extremely hilly. All rides will begin at 9 a.m. at the Rock Island Depot at 100 W. Chickasha Ave. 

Those who sign up before Sept. 8 will receive an early bird discount. Those who pre-register by Sept. 8 will pay $30. Between Sept. 9 and Sept. 28, the fee is $35. After that, the cost is $40. Online registration is due by Oct. 2. The first 200 registered riders will receive a t-shirt and all finishers will receive a medal. 

Last year, the Rock Island Ride raised $1,000 for Mobile Meals, $1,000 for the Chickasha Emergency Food Pantry, $250 for the Salvation Army and $100 for Boy Scouts Troop 301, Pack 296.
