Register by Aug. 16 to vote in Blanchard Special School Election

Those who want to vote in the upcoming Blanchard Special School Election have until next Friday to get registered.

The Blanchard Special School Election will take place on Sept. 10. The nearly $31.3 million proposition will enable the school to provide a new performing arts center, a football stadium, a cafeteria for the middle school and more classrooms with some of these doubling as safe rooms.

Those who are eligible to vote but who have never registered or who need to change their registration information have until Aug. 16 to do so. An Oklahoma Voter Registration Application must be mailed in time for it to be postmarked no later than Friday, Aug. 16. Applications postmarked after this date will be accepted and processed but not approved until after Sept. 10, according to Jo Ann Hammes, Grady County Election Board Secretary.

Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at www.elections.ok.gov, at all county post offices, public libraries and tag agencies as well as at the Grady County Election Board Office at 307 W. Chickasha Ave. in Chickasha.
