A few sunny days will be the calm before the storm in most of Oklahoma this week.
AccuWeather released a report stating a soaking storm system could bring a flood risk to the southern plains. Areas of central and eastern Oklahoma could have enough rain to flood creeks and rivers, the report said.
According to the National Weather Service, while low lying areas could experience flooding, severe weather is not expected.
In Chickasha, rain chances will begin on Wednesday. Chances will start low, around 30% and increase to 60% as the day progresses. Temperatures will be mild, with a high of 69 degrees and a low of 44 degrees. On Wednesday night, there is a 90% chance of thunderstorms.
Thursday is forecast to be considerably cooler with a high of 46 degrees. Rain chances will decrease throughout the day, starting at 60% and decreasing to 30% as the day goes on. There is no chance of rain on Thursday night at the time of this report. However, the evening will be chilly with a low of 29 degrees forecast by the National Weather Service.
