The lights—more importantly, the air conditioner—stayed on for Chickasha residents on Wednesday afternoon.
On Monday and Tuesday about 3,100 residents and/or businesses lost power at about 2 p.m. PSO was able to restore power for everyone within a few hours on both days. The company reached out to an expert in Tulsa to help investigate the issue.
According to Tim Hushbeck, External Affairs Manager with PSO, the cause may have been an overloaded protection device on one of the transmitters. PSO made some adjustments to the settings. There were no outages on Wednesday.
Hushbeck said the recent growth in Chickasha—through more people, stores and oil business—may have led to the overload. He said because the power held out today, he feels confident the issue has been resolved.
