A Kansas man died on Sunday night after a semi truck struck his motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Jason Reager, 35, of Arkansas City, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head injuries according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The semi and motorcycle were southbound on US 81, north of Ninnekah city limits. When the motorcyclist attempted to make a right turn onto Pikes Peak Rd, the semi struck the motorcycle from behind. Reager was not wearing his helmet, the incident report said.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
The accident occurred at about 8:27 p.m. The road was closed for two hours and 18 minutes and reopened at 11:03 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Several agencies also responded to the scene including the Grady County Sheriff's Office, the Ninnekah Police Department, the Chickasha Police Department, the Chickasha Fire Department and EMS.
