Moore and Heilman to teach free kids' art classes Aug. 3

The Chickasha Area Arts Council (CAAC) is pleased to offer two free Saturday Morning Art Classes for children, ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 12, on Aug. 3 from 10 a.m to 11am. 

The classes will be held in the Chickasha Area Arts Council's '7th Street Art Connection', located at 1301 S. 7th Street in Chickasha. Enter on the 7th St. side at the ramp.

Registration is required for the classes, and the class size is limited to 15 for the 4 to 7 year olds and 20 for the 8 to 12 year olds. When a class is full, a wait list will be kept in the event there is a cancellation.

When registering, include: (1) first and last name of child, (2) birthday, (3) name of person accompanying child, (4) contact phone number and (5) email address, if available. An email confirmation will be returned to those registering by email. 

The two classes will be taught by talented high school art teachers, Angela Moore and Amber Heilman.

Ms. Angela Moore will be teaching the 4-7 year old children how to make fun and festive 'Chinese Lanterns'. She is the Ninnekah High School Teacher of Art and Family and Consumer Sciences, serves on the CAAC Board of Directors, has Angela Moore Photography and taught the ArtScope Studio camp for 13-18 year olds in June. 

Ms. Amber Heilman will be leading a class of 8-12 year old students as they learn the techniques in creating beautiful 'Cactus Sunset Paintings'. Amber is the Rush Springs High School Art Teacher, has been a Visual Arts Instructor at ArtScope for several years and serves on the CAAC Board of Directors.  

Adult caregivers are to accompany and stay with their children for the Saturday Morning Art Classes.

The Chickasha Area Arts Council's FREE Saturday Morning Art Classes have been a community activity for children since March 2012.  Funding for the Saturday Morning Art Classes this year is provided by the Junior Social Workers of Chickasha and Altrusa International of Chickasha. 

The Chickasha Area Arts Council is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a sixteen member Board of Directors.  Donations (financial, art supplies, etc.) to the CAAC may be tax-deducible.
