A Chickasha man was shot in the chest while riding his bike on Sunday evening.
A vehicle pulled up to the 40-year-old male and a suspect shot at least once, leaving the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Chickasha Police Department.
Officers initially responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 10th St. and Texas Ave. just before 10 p.m. While on the way to the scene, officers were told there was a shooting victim in the 1000 block of Texas Ave., the report said.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Oklahoma City. The victim’s condition and identity are not being released at this time.
The Chickasha Police Department stated this is an active investigation and no further details are being released at this time.
The Chickasha Police Department said the incident appears to be isolated and no further danger to the public is indicated.
