The National Weather Service has extended the flood warning for Grady and other counties through 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The Canadian River was recorded at 13.6 feet early Wednesday morning, above the 12 foot flooding threshold. Minor flooding is occurring near Mustang, according to NWS.
According to the forecast, the Canadian River is expected to fall below the flood stage by Thursday afternoon. However, should the river reach 14 feet, an overflow could occur along the Canadian-Grady County border near US 81 between Union City and Minco, downstream to areas near Tuttle and Mustang. Sandpits, agricultural lands and low-lying local roads could be affected, NWS said.
