Continental Resources is once again accepting applications for its Funding the Future education grants. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to teachers in Continental’s operating area who are interested in launching or augmenting innovative reading, science, technology, engineering or math programs at their schools
“It is our hope at Continental that these grants are used to inspire the next generation of mathematicians, scientists and geologists in our state,” Continental Chairman and CEO Harold Hamm said. “Supporting Oklahoma’s outstanding teachers and students has long been a priority of our company, and we look forward to seeing how this grant money is used to further the education experience and prepare our next generation.”
The grant program was established in 2013 to help bolster critical education programs in areas where Continental is active. Continental received more than 200 applications for the grant program last year. A review committee awarded 47 grants totaling $200,000 in 2018-2019.
Some examples of how the grants have been used in previous years are: developing a makerspace, technology equipment, reading lab materials, SMART boards, microscopes, weather stations, calculators and books
Applications for this year’s grant cycle are open until September 30. For more information, visit clr.com/community.
