The Chickasha Board of Education is seeking input from the local community in the superintendent hiring process.
Chickasha Public Schools recently announced there will be several "conversational and interactive forums" in September.
On Tuesday, Sept.17, meetings will be held for school staff, administrators, business leaders and the community at large.
The meeting for business leaders will be held at noon at the Canadian Valley Technology Center at 1401 W. Michigan Ave. Lunch will be provided.
The community-at-large forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. The general public is invited to attend. Participants are asked to bring a smartphone, tablet or laptop to engage in the interactive forum.
The purpose of these meetings is "an effort to obtain stakeholder nut regarding the qualifications and characteristics of the next superintendent," according to Chickasha Public Schools' announcement.
Earlier this year, Dr. Jack Herron resigned from the position. Jennifer Stegman is currently serving as the interim superintendent.
The Oklahoma State School Boards Association is currently assisting Chickasha Public Schools in the superintendent hiring process.
