Every year Southwest Youth and Family Services offers a day camp for local students. On Thursday, the Chickasha Art Center hosted 28 campers for a two hour workshop.

The 7th and 8th grade students painted the Chickasha logo and practiced "spin painting."

Katherine Cate, with Southwest Youth and Family Services, said the aim of the camp is to provide life enriching experiences for local youth. The camp also helps students learn about life skills and building positive relationships.

In the past, the camp has visited the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, the Chickasha Public Pool and various museums in Oklahoma City.

The camp is free and takes place a few days a week during a two week period.
