The Chickasha Area Arts Council (CAAC) is accepting applications from individuals interested in being considered as a Co-Director of CAAC’s ArtScope 2020 program and as the Director of its 12th annual Rock Island Arts Festival (RIAF).
ArtScope is a two-week multi-arts day camp for approximately 80 children, ages 8-12. The camp will be held June 8-19, 2020 from 9am-4pm on the USAO Campus. This position includes coordinating and overseeing all aspects of ArtScope, as well as ArtScope Studio, a visual arts half-day camp for 13-18 year olds and held at the same time as ArtScope. The ArtScope Co-Director position is contracted and stipend-paid with many responsibilities including planning and working with camp staff, fundraising (including grant applications, documentation and final reports and locating funds for camper scholarships), receiving and organizing all camper applications, setting up camp and storing supplies and equipment after camp, communicating with parents and the CAAC board, promoting the camps and being involved in every facet of the camp for several months of the year.
Rock Island Arts Festival (RIAF) is a three-day free, family-friendly event and is held in the Train Depot area of downtown Chickasha during the end of Sept. or early Oct. 2020. The RIAF Director is contracted and stipend-paid and oversees and organizes all aspects of the Festival, including fundraising (grants, documentation and reports, sponsorships, etc.), all phases of promotion, arranging for artisans, crafters and other vendors, scheduling all musical performers, planning children’s activities, working with food trucks and wineries, designing the layout of the Festival, overseeing the set-up, scheduling volunteers and working with City officials and other supporters. The RIAF Director also coordinates with other events held in conjunction with the Festival, namely, the annual Ride the Rock Bicycle fundraiser, Food Truck Championship Competition, Together We Heel to raise awareness of domestic violence and the Chamber of Commerce activities.

The Chickasha Area Arts Council is a non-profit 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 16 individuals from the community.
