Cement man dies after collision

A man from Cement died after a collision near Watonga on Tuesday. 

Jerry Wayne Smith, 48, of Cement, was driving a semi-truck on US270, south of Watonga in Blaine County around 6:30 a.m. 

Smith's vehicle went off the west edge of the highway onto the median and struck a creek. HIs truck rolled a half turn, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. 

Smith was transported via AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He died at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the collision, according to the accident report. 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the cause of the collision may have been sleepiness.
