Books Come Alive at Chickasha Public Library Nov. 23

Herimone and Peter Pan look over a map during a previous Books Come Alive Event. Books Come Alive and the Local Author Showcase will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Chickasha Public Library.

The Chickasha Public Library will be holding an event for local characters and the people who write them.

Books Come Alive and the Local Author Showcase will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Chickasha Public Library.

The Books Come Alive event allows library patrons to see literary characters—and maybe even people they know—in a new way.

According to a release from the library: "Go on a journey through the Library and meet your favorite literary characters from classic and current titles. Characters are played by local citizens who have created monologues based on their characters and are ready to share their journey with you."

The Local Author Showcase will give local authors a platform to share their published works with the community. On the day of the event, the Local Author Showcase will take place in the Meeting Room while Books Come Alive takes place.

The event is free but local authors may have books for sale.

Those who wish to participate either in Books Come Alive or the Local Author Showcase are asked to call Courtney or Brande at the Chickasha Public Library (405-222-6075).
