A Blanchard man is facing charges of assault and cruelty to animals.
A witness allegedly stopped Earl Lewis from strangling a person within a Blanchard residence. When the victim was able to escape and went to another room, Lewis allegedly began harming the victim's dog. Lewis allegedly squeezed the dog until they urinated and defecated on the floor. Lewis then allegedly began hitting the dog's head on the ground. During this time the victim hit Lewis across the shoulder with a baseball bat to stop him from harming the dog, the report said.
Lewis then began fighting another person when Blanchard Police arrived to separate both parties, the report said.
Officers observed bruising on the victim's neck and dog feces on the ground and arrested Lewis at 2 a.m. He was transported to the Grady County Jail. His bail was set at $50,000 and he was later bonded out, according to the Grady County Court Clerk's Office.
