Anonymous donor comes to FUR aid

Friends Fur Change received an anonymous donor to spay and neuter more than 50 animals in the shelter and is seeking volunteers and crates for the surgeries on Friday from 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

"[The donation] meant the world to us," Friends Fur Change Member Bobbie Wallis said. "When the city told us [they no longer had the funds] for the spay and neuter program, we were devastated. We posted on Facebook that we were sad about this and we received a call [from someone who had followed their work] who offered to spay and neuter all the animals in the shelter..we were clapping and crying…it was a blessing to us and to the shelter animals."

The group also contacted Spay Way, a low-cost clinic from Oklahoma City, who agreed to spay and neuter the animals at $40 per dog and $30 per cat in the club house of the Cottonwood Creek golf course.

Wallis said the group needs about 10 more volunteers and a few crates for Friday.

She said they're hoping to get Spay Way to come back to Chickasha as they get more animals in the shelter.
