Cement resident Louise Simmon's grandson looked at live chicks while she shopped for food for her animals at the Tractor Supply Company grand opening on Saturday.
The grand opening consisted of a live remote from 102.7, a local sports radio station, raffle tickets for a log splitter and gift cards from $250 to $300.
Simmon said she has chickens, horses, dogs and a wild turkey at home and had to travel two hours for supplies before the Tractor Supply Company opened.
Store Manager Larry Travis said hundreds of people have come through the store each day since its opening on March 7.
"Business and response has been fantastic," Travis said. "People have been saying, 'we didn't know you had that.'"
Carl Jantz attended the grand opening and bought some tools to use around his home.
"There's a good variety of stuff," Jantz said. "I plan to come here often for tools."
He said he's glad the store opened because he used to have to travel for supplies.
