Car swerves into pond while avoiding deer

GRADY COUNTY —

A car drove into a pond in an attempt to avoid a deer on the roadway on Tuesday evening, according to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol. 

The Ford pickup, driven by Roy E. Spratt, was headed east on CR1220. The truck swerved to miss a deer that appeared on the roadway and went into a pond. 

Spratt was transported to OU Medical Center by Tuttle EMS and admitted with trunk internal injuries. He was listed in good condition at the time of this report. 

The driver's condition was listed as apparently normal and the cause of collision was cited as "no improper action by driver."
